Roman designers draw inspiration from Eastern jade culture, while Eastern designers learn from Roman metal engraving techniques. This cross-cultural exchange promotes the development of global jewelry culture.
On October 18, the 2024 Shuibei (Autumn) China Jewelry Industry Development Pragmatic Forum was held concurrently. As a key component of the gala, the forum invited global jewelry masters to discuss new ideas, trends, and designs in the industry.
At the Sino-Italian Jewelry Brand Forum, guests delved into topics such as the value of participating in the gala, building brand power, and the similarities and differences between the Chinese and Italian jewelry markets. Monica emphasized the gala's role in driving innovation in the international jewelry industry, noting that Eastern elements can inspire designers.
Italian jewelry expert Rebecca compared the Chinese and Italian markets, highlighting China's vast consumer potential and cultural resources. She suggested that Chinese companies learn from Italian brand-building experiences, combining traditional culture with modern design to create brands with unique cultural identities.
The afternoon sessions focused on analyzing and forecasting global gemstone market consumption trends. Andrew Lucas, Dean of Education at the GUILD Gemological Institute, presented detailed data on the global supply chain of diamonds and gemstones, as well as consumption trends in the international market for 2025. He emphasized the importance of coordinated development across the industry's upstream and downstream sectors.
The Sino-Italian Jewelry Design Forum aimed to unlock the treasure trove of Eastern aesthetics for Chinese jewelry designers, encouraging innovation through tradition and drawing inspiration from cultural heritage.
The gala was hosted by the Shenzhen International Jewelry and Jade Trade Platform, Shenzhen Gold and Jewelry Association, and Shenzhen Gold and Jewelry Culture Research Association. It was co-organized by the Shenzhen Jewelry Museum, the Global Hundred Jewelry Designers Creative Design and R&D Platform, Yundinghui Fashion Culture (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Tianzi Culture Communication Co., Ltd. The event was guided by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the People’s Government of Luohu District.
Moving forward, Luohu District will continue to combine bringing in and going global strategies, optimizing the business environment and increasing support to promote the transformation and upgrading of the gold and jewelry industry toward high-end, branded, digital, and international development. Leveraging the advantage of Chinese jewelry looking to Shenzhen, the district aims to achieve the goal of global jewelry looking to China.
